Abraham (Abe) Jacob was born in 1932 in Calcutta, India. His grandfather was a successful businessman and he grew up in a large family home shared with aunts, uncles and cousins. In his interview Abe spoke extensively about the impact of WWII and Partition. In 1950 he left India and attended University in the UK. He started working for a large American electronics firm, and his career has meant that he and his family spent several years living in both Ireland and the USA. Abe moved back to London in 2005.
