Alan Levy was born in 1939 in Port Said, Egypt. His family home was in the midst of the fighting of the Suez War and in 1956 his family fled Egypt. Alan arrived in England alone, and lived with a Jewish couple in Nottingham. For many years, Alan worked as a chemist for Vicks, developing many household products, before starting his own chemical development company in the 1990s.
