Naomi Pope

Naomi Pope was born in 1929 in Rangoon, Burma. The family were on holiday visiting family in England in 1939 when they got stuck due to the outbreak of the Second World War. Naomi became involved in Jewish youth movements in the UK and in 1945 began to make preparations to move to British Mandated Palestine. Naomi joined the hagannah in the UK and worked on the Exodus ship. Due to her father's illness she returned to England in 1949, enrolled at Central St Martin's School of Fashion and forged a career in the fashion industry.
