May Prosser

May Prosser (nee Elias) was born in Singapore in 1938. She remembers a very happy childhood. May describes how her ancestors came to Singapore from Iraq via India, and how as a child she was evacuated with surviving family back to India just before the Japanese invasion of Singapore in 1942. May worked as a secretary to support her family and left Singapore in 1961 for England, where she married a British Army officer. After moving around the world with her new family, she eventually settled in London where she started and ran a successful business.
